General Considerations

The Timișoara Medical Journal follows the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals”, updated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (www.icmje.org) in December 2019. Our journal is 100% compliant with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (joint statement by COPE, DOAJ, WAME, and OASPA).

Editorial and Peer Review Procedures

All the submitted manuscripts will be checked by the Editorial Team to find out if they respect the Instructions for Authors and the ethical requirements of the journal. Manuscripts not meeting these standards will be rejected before peer review, or will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission. The Managing Editor will consult the Associate Editors to decide if the manuscript is appropriate to the scope of the journal and credible from a scientific point of view. Once these initial checks are passed, the manuscript will be assigned to at least two independent reviewers, in an single-blind review fashion, where authors’ identities are known to the reviewers.

Plagiarism Detection

The Timișoara Medical Journal uses iThenticate, a plagiarism detection system. By submitting your manuscript to our journal, you accept that your manuscript will be screened for plagiarism/similarities against previously published works.

Digital Archiving

All the published manuscripts will be digitally archived using the Portico digital preservation service.

Submission Process

Manuscripts for Timișoara Medical Journal should be submitted online at https://tmj.jams.pub/login. Prior to the submission, the submitting author, who is generally the corresponding author, should register and log in to the mentioned submission website. All the co-authors are able to access the manuscript in the submission system, if they register and log in, using the e-mail addresses provided by the submitting author during the manuscript submission.

Cover Letter

A Cover Letter must accompany each submitted manuscript, in which all authors are required to confirm that they agreed with the publication in the Timisoara Medical Journal, that their proposed work is original, and is not under consideration or published in another journal, publication, or website. A template for the Cover Letter may be downloaded from here.

Manuscript requirements

Authors must use the downloadable Microsoft Word template to prepare their manuscript. The use of the template will significantly reduce the processing time of the accepted manuscripts. Please insert the Tables and the Figures in the main text after the paragraph of its citation. If you have any difficulties with the use of the template, please contact the Editorial Office: tmj@umft.ro

Very important: the use of the journal template is exclusively intended for submission to the journal. The template cannot be used for online posting of the non-finalized manuscript on pre-print servers or other websites, as it is protected by copyright.
